THE FOX GIRL AND THE WHITE GAZELLE BY VICTORIA WILLIAMSON - A REVIEW BY MRS SPOUR
5 word review – friendship / trust / freedom / uplifting / honesty
This is a gorgeous story about how two girls called Reema and Caylin form an unlikely friendship. Reema is a Syrian refugee and Caylin is from Glasgow. They meet behind the back of a bin shed where they are both caring for an injured fox and her cubs. The story shares the powerful message that everyone can belong if people are willing to get to know you. Reema and Caylin’s backgrounds are very different but they bond over their common love of running and the foxes. A great read!
Who would you recommend this book to?
Years 5 and 6, both boys and girls. Even though the main characters are two girls, the story is a brilliant read and I think the boys would really enjoy the friendship and camaraderie in the book.
