Wise Owls

Wise Owls Years Reception and 1

Children from Reception and Year 1 play and learn in our lovely classroom and outdoor area. We are called Wise Owls because of the amount of bird life in our amazing woodland area.

Much of our learning is based on the interests of the children and we have lots of opportunities to develop our skills and work independently. We help the Year 1 children move on to Key Stage 1 learning by introducing more formal and specific tasks in the different areas of provision that make up our classroom.

These areas include:

role play area
writing area
maths area
creative/making area
construction area
activities on our classroom computers
water area
science lab
challenge table

We often join together with children and teachers from other classes to enjoy stories, music and special days.

We love working together to collect class rewards; this means that we always try our best to be helpful, kind and the best learners we can be. Our teacher and teaching assistant work together to make learning as much fun and as hands-on as possible; a happy environment means happy, receptive learners.
