Great Oaks
Great Oaks Years 4, 5 and 6
Throughout the Autumn term, Great Oaks have been exploring the Second World War. They have learnt when and why the war began and found out about key individuals and countries involved. The children have had the opportunity to visit the Lincolnshire Life Museum, immersing themselves in life during the war-time era.
Children have discovered a variety of writing during English lessons, drawing on examples to create their own pieces. Their spooky narrative stories ensured a chilling atmosphere in the build up to Halloween! We are now focussed on writing our own newspaper articles, learning about journalistic styles.
Our Science theme throughout the term has been Electricity and Light. Children have been busy learning about and creating circuits and are now moving into making periscopes, exploring how light travels.
